Edward & Clara Memorial Clinic (ECMC) has expanded its footprint in Lagos with the launch of a second walk-in facility, strategically located within SuperSavers Mall on Ago Palace Way, Okota. The new clinic, designed to provide accessible and affordable healthcare, follows the success of ECMC’s first facility in Lekki, which opened in April 2023.
The clinic’s Managing Director, Dr. Augustina Anetor, a UK-trained Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, spearheaded the project in response to Nigeria’s persistent healthcare challenges. “ECMC is addressing key issues such as limited access, inadequate infrastructure, and high costs, which have plagued the Nigerian healthcare landscape,” she explained. Dr. Anetor returned to Nigeria as part of a government initiative encouraging healthcare professionals in the Diaspora to contribute to the nation’s development.
ECMC aims to be a leader in preventive healthcare, offering services such as clinical consultations, laboratory testing, injury treatment, and health screenings. By embedding their facilities within community hubs like SuperSavers Mall, ECMC is making healthcare accessible to busy residents, enabling them to walk in for urgent care without the need for appointments.
The clinics’ model also leverages advanced technology and collaborations with international healthcare experts to deliver quality medical services at competitive prices.
Dr. Anetor underscored the importance of community-driven healthcare, noting that the new facility will particularly benefit residents of Okota, Amuwo Odofin, and surrounding areas. She encouraged locals to take advantage of a one-month free registration and consultation offer, positioning ECMC as a go-to option for families looking to stay on top of their health.
The launch was chaired by Mr. Lucky Egede, Chairman of SuperSavers supermarket chain, who praised ECMC for its contribution to nation-building through healthcare. “A healthy community drives national progress,” said Egede, urging local shoppers and residents to integrate ECMC’s services into their family health routines.
Local community representatives also lauded the opening, noting that it provides a much-needed solution to the lack of accessible, private primary healthcare options in the area.
