Mouka Partners with Lagos Food Bank to Support Vulnerable Mothers and Children

Mouka, the leading company in Nigeria’s sleep industry and a member of the Dolidol International Group, has embarked on a new partnership with the Lagos Food Bank, a prominent non-profit organisation, to support vulnerable mothers and children through the Nutritious Meal Intervention for Vulnerable Mothers and Children (NUMEPLAN) programme.

This collaboration is set to bring substantial improvements to the lives of these at-risk groups.

The Lagos Food Bank, a privately managed non-profit, is at the forefront of the fight against hunger, food waste, and malnutrition in Nigeria. The organisation’s initiatives are particularly focused on improving the nutrition of pregnant women and their infants, ensuring they receive the vital nutrients required during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Mouka has a well-established tradition of social responsibility, consistently partnering with governments, NGOs, and other organisations to uplift the underprivileged in society. Yemisi Obadina, Senior Brand and Innovation Manager at Mouka, highlighted the company’s dedication to the health and comfort of Nigerians.

“At Mouka, our priority is the comfort and health of Nigerians,” she stated. “We believe that a child’s wellbeing is greatly influenced by quality nutrition and sleep—areas where Mouka is committed to making a difference.”

In line with its commitment, Mouka has donated 50 of its Dreamtime mattresses to the NUMEPLAN initiative. The Dreamtime mattress, specifically designed for children, features a water-resistant, breathable cover that keeps the foam core dry while ensuring the child remains cool and comfortable throughout the night. The mattress is made with the ideal foam density for children and is available in appealing designs for both boys and girls.

In addition to its collaboration with the Lagos Food Bank, Mouka has made significant contributions to society this year. The company has provided business grants to female entrepreneurs through a partnership with Herconomy, Nigeria’s first fintech firm dedicated to empowering women.

Furthermore, Mouka has worked with various state governments to welcome the first babies born in public hospitals across the country, offering generous donations of its products and other essential baby items.

Established in 1959, Mouka is now a proud member of the Dolidol International Group, with its headquarters in Morocco. The company continues to lead the market with innovative products, such as the Wellbeing Regal Plus mattress, which features a pillow top and an orthopaedic core designed to support the lower back, promoting better posture and relieving pain.

Mouka’s partnership with the Lagos Food Bank underscores its ongoing commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable groups in Nigeria. By contributing its resources and expertise, Mouka is making a meaningful difference in the health and comfort of the nation’s most at-risk populations.
